My father is always in my heart. This lectern stands in our living room and reminds me of the wisdom he imparted and the love he gave me as I grew up. Each artefact in this composition is significant to me and my family in some way:
On top lies a cherished old 1946 copy of Dyke's Automobile and Gasoline Engine Encyclopedia, Dad's old Dawn No. 7 Woodworking vice is built into the base, and Mom's antique Singer Lotus Pattern sewing machine with its original cast iron foot forms the lectern's front.
